JFK
JFK
When John F. Kennedy became president, he devoted much of his time to foreign policy. Though the Cold War with the Soviet Union at the time, dominated all other concerns, Kennedy tried to stop communism with a range of programs. One program, the Peace Corps, tried to help developing nations worldwide. President Kennedy's efforts to combat Communist influence in other countries led to some of the most intense crises of the Cold War. These crises left Americans and many people in other nations left them wondering if the world was going to survive.
